UP Free Electricity Connection Scheme (If there is light then there is development)

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister has started Prakash Hai Toh Vikas Hai scheme. This scheme was started on 25 December 2017. This scheme was started on the birthday of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Bajpayee ji. The main objective of this scheme is to provide free electricity connection to all the poor families of the state. There are many such families in the state, who come below the poverty line, keeping these poor families in mind, the Chief Minister has started this scheme. The scheme has been started by Gausana and Lohban villages of Mathura district of the state and both these villages have been electrified 100%.

• The state government has provided 25 lakh household connections for the purpose of 04 crores.
• This scheme will cover 10 lakh farmers by 2022 and will result in 35% savings in electricity consumption.
• Such BPL families whose annual income is less than 35000 rupees. Those families can get the benefit of this scheme.
• Earlier, Rs 10000 had to be paid for the connection under this scheme, but now you will get electricity connection for Rs 550.
• Under this scheme, initial payment of Rs 50 has to be made, the balance amount of Rs 500 will have to be paid in ten installments.
• The Uttar Pradesh government has planned to provide 1.6 crore electricity connections by the end of 2018.
• Under this scheme, free electricity connections will be provided to the poor families of the state.
• The central government has set a target of providing electricity to about 4 crore people under the Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Har Ghar Bijli Yojana.
