The Government of Rajasthan has started the Inter-caste Marriage Promotion Scheme on behalf of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment. Through which the state government will provide financial assistance to promote inter-caste marriages and eliminate discrimination in castes regarding marriage. In the Inter-caste Marriage Scheme, the state government has made a provision to provide financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh to married couples, out of which Rs. 2 lakh 50 thousand will be given as fixed deposit for 8 years in the joint account of the married couple. and the remaining 2.5 lakh rupees will be given to them for daily work in their married life. Apart from this, the couple can also use this money to build a new house.

• The aim is to remove the restrictions imposed by the society on inter-caste marriage by giving government protection.
• Inter-caste marriage aims to eliminate caste discrimination in the society.
• To end this evil of the society by giving security to young girls who try to unite the society by doing inter-caste marriages and giving financial assistance in the form of encouragement.
• The aim of the government is to eliminate the difference of high and low in the society.

Rajasthan Inter-caste Marriage Promotion Scheme Eligibility

To take advantage of Rajasthan Inter Caste Marriage Scheme, the applicant should have the following qualifications:-

• A young man or a girl belonging to a Scheduled Caste category, who has met an upper caste Hindu youth or girl, both of whom are natives of Rajasthan and neither of the couple is more than 35 years of age, and who is not convicted in any criminal case, Have married
• Marriage registration certificate issued from the competent authority / officer’s office as proof of marriage of a couple doing inter-caste marriage.
• The combined income of the couple should not exceed Rs 2.50 lakh per annum.
• Such a couple should not have received any financial benefit in any parallel scheme run by the State/Central Government.
• The benefit under the scheme will be payable only on receipt of the application within a period of one year from the date of marriage.
• The benefit of this scheme will be payable only on the first marriage of the young man/girl.

Exception:– On remarriage by a widow woman, she will be eligible to take advantage of this scheme, provided neither of the couple has availed the benefit of this scheme in the past, as well as in the obligation / condition of the first marriage to the young man who marries a widowed woman. There will be a discount.

• Copies of savings account number and PAN card of a nationalized bank in joint name of the couple.

• “Affidavit” to one of the couple, who is not a Scheduled Caste, to the effect that he or she belongs to a Hindu upper caste. (Affidavit will be attested by notary)
