Odisha Malati Devi Prak Vidyalaya Paridhan Yojana 2022

Odisha Government has started Odisha Malti Devi Prak Vidyalaya Paridhan Yojana 2020 on 2nd October 2020. In this scheme, the government has distributed 2 sets of uniforms to pre-school children on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. This year, around 14.83 lakh school children in Anganwadi Centers (AWCs) have been benefitted by this equitable distribution scheme.

The main objective of Odisha Malti Devi Prak Vidyalaya Paridhan Yojana is to provide 2 sets of free uniforms to pre-school children. Children who belong to the economically weaker sections of the society study in Anganwadi centers which requires uniforms. Their parents are not able to buy new uniforms for such children and to ensure that such poor parents are benefitted, this equitable distribution scheme has been started.

Now the state government is providing free school uniform (2 sets) to every child studying in AWCs. Around 14.83 lakh pre-school children studying in 61,040 AWCs have already received uniforms on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. The new initiative is going to encourage more students to enroll in schools.

Pre-school kids are eager to get new uniforms which keep them interested to participate in AWCs. With this, children in pre-schools will also be able to access a host of other Anganwadi services. These services include the Supplementary Nutrition Program (SNP) and Early Childhood Care Education (ECCE).

As of 2 October, around 14.83 lakh pre-school children have received 2 sets of uniforms according to the color composition. The color code of the uniform distributed is blue colored pants and pink colored shirt. Around 1344 SHGs were engaged in tailoring and supply of uniforms to the students in 61,040 AWCs across the state.

The event was attended by public representatives, PRI members, eminent personalities, Mothers/Investigation Committee members, parents/grandparents of children and Head Master/Mistress of the school in AWC area. The COVID protocol was strictly followed during the distribution of uniforms.
