Maharashtra government has launched Chief Minister Employment Generation Program for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This CM employment generation program is expected to create 10 lakh jobs in the next 5 years. There will be 30% reservation for women entrepreneurs in the flagship CMEGP program of the Industries Department. Individuals/non-individuals can now apply online for the CMEGP program and fill out the application form and log in to maha-cmegp.org.in.

Individual entrepreneurs, institutions, cooperatives, self-help groups, and trusts will be the beneficiaries of the CMEGP programme. The contribution of the beneficiary will be less to facilitate the establishment of more enterprises through the Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Program. Providing jobs to educated unemployed youth is now a big issue, which will be addressed through CMEGP programme.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Employment Generation Program (CMEGP)

State government. CM will launch an employment generation program in which the government aims to set up 1 lakh units in 5 years. About 40% of these units will be started in rural areas. The target is to set up 10,000 micro-enterprises by first-generation entrepreneurs. Maharashtra CMEGP Scheme Implementation

The objective of the CMEGP scheme is to promote entrepreneurship and tackle unemployment related issues. The new Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Program will provide financial assistance in the form of a viability gap fund. The financing will be for an approved project cost of up to Rs 50 lakh for manufacturing activities and up to Rs 10 lakh for service sector activities.

The Maharashtra CMEGP program will cover manufacturing, service and agro-based activities in the retail sector. The entire planning from conception, design and approval to the implementation phases of the scheme has already been done. The nodal bank for the CMEGP program will be Corporation Bank and the beneficiaries will be financed by nationalized and private sector banks like Yes Bank, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank.

In addition, the state government will develop 50 new industrial parks at the taluka level.
