INSPIRE Scholarship is a scholarship program implemented by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. It is a scholarship scheme, which comes under Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE), a flagship program of DST. For meritorious students pursuing bachelor’s and master’s courses in natural and basic sciences, the INSPIRE scholarship offers a scholarship of Rs 12,000 per year. Under the scholarship, each selected candidate receives Rs 80,000 annually to pursue any subject in natural or basic science.

Under the scholarship, each selected candidate gets a scholarship amount of Rs.80,000 per year for the study of science and technology and many other benefits. The benefits given under this scholarship are as follows:-

Inspire Scholarship Important Dates 2022
The scholarship is announced every year in mid-October and ends at the end of the month of December. INSPIRE Scholarship for Higher Education 2019 is yet to be announced. The scholarship dates table is given below:-

INSPIRE Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the scholarship, applicants must have passed class 12th and a course in natural science at B.Sc or integrated M.Sc level. Below is the detailed information about the eligibility criteria of this scholarship:-
- Applicant’s age should be between 17-22 years.
- Applicant must be enrolled in courses of natural and basic sciences at B.Sc, BS and Integrated MSc/MS level in the same year of 12th standard.
- Applicants who are among the top 10000 rankers in the Joint Entrance Examination of IITs, AIEEE (Top 20000 Ranks) and Combined CBSE-Medical (AIPTM) have opted to study Natural/Basic Science.
- Candidates enrolled in Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Department of Atomic Energy Center for Basic Sciences (DAE-CBS) at University of Mumbai, B.Sc. and M.Sc. The natural/basic sciences leading to the degree are also eligible.

INSPIRE Scholarship Online Application 2022 Process
Applications for the INSPIRE Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE) are accepted online through the INSPIRE Program’s online portal. Given below is the complete guideline on how to apply for the scholarship:
- First applicant must be registered as a new user on INSPIRE Scholarship Portal. For successful registration the candidate has to enter his/her name, gender, date of birth, email, password, eligibility criteria and verification code.
- The candidate receives the User ID and Password on his/her registered email ID, where he/she has to click on the Activate link to activate his/her account.
- The applicant must keep the scanned copies of all the required documents as separate files before filling the application form.
- The applicant has to log in to the INSPIRE Scholarship Portal using his/her username and password.
- Now, the candidate has to fill all the details like personal details, enrollment information in B.Sc and integrated M.Sc level, senior secondary performance information, national level competitive exam details, contact details and other details in the scholarship application form.
- Also, the applicant has to upload all the required documents in support of the online scholarship application.
- to the applicant “Print Preview” There is a need to review the entered details before submitting the form by pressing on the button. You must ensure that all the details and uploaded documents are correct.
- Now, for the applicant to submit the application Submit You have to click on the button.
- After the final submission of the online scholarship application form, the candidate must take a print out of the submitted application for his/her record.

Important Documents of INSPIRE Scholarship
- passport size photograph of the applicant
- caste certificate of the applicant
- Eligibility Note or Advisory Note if provided by State/Central Board
- class 12th mark sheet
- Class 10th mark sheet or certificate (for proof of date of birth)
- Specifying rank/award in JEE (Main) / JEE (Advanced) / NEET / KVPY / JBTSTS / NTSE / International Olympic Medals (if candidates are eligible under this criteria).
- Support form signed by the Principal of the College / Director of the Institute / Registrar of the University
- First page of applicant’s SBI Bank passbook
Selection Process for INSPIRE Scholarship
- The list of shortlisted candidates will be displayed on the online portal of INSPIRE and also on the website of INSPIRE programme.
- Selected students will have to download their provisional offer letter from the online portal of INSPIRE.
- Shortlisted candidates will have to upload the required documents on their web portal within the stipulated time frame for further consideration.
- Selected candidates will receive their scholarship awards directly into State Bank of India (SBI) bank account through DBT (Direct Bank Transfer).
