Gujarat Government Schemes List for General / Unreserved Category by Gujarat

Gujarat government has announced 8 new schemes to provide financial assistance to the unreserved category people. This assistance is for the job, education, self-employment opportunities to EWS people. Here we are providing the complete list of 8 schemes for general category people. Now all the poor candidates of 58 castes who are not eligible for any kind of reservation quota can take advantage of these schemes.

Out of the total 8 schemes announced, 7 schemes are only for those people whose annual income is less than Rs 3 lakh per annum. Out of the total 6.5 crore population of Gujarat, about 1.5 crores are not eligible for any kind of reservation and thus are deprived of employment and educational benefits. Gujarat Unreserved Educational and Economic Development Corporation will implement these schemes with an outlay of Rs 600 crore.

Gujarat Government Schemes List /Unreserved Category in Gujarat

Gujarat government announced 8 schemes for students from economically backward sections of the general category and young entrepreneurs who do not get the benefit of reservation. The state currently has 49.5% reservation (7.5% for SC, 15% for ST and 27% for OBC). In 1992, the Hon’ble Supreme Court has fixed the maximum limit of 50% for all types of reservation. Education loan scheme up to Rs 10 lakh

Any person belonging to the general category can take a loan of up to Rs 10 lakh from GUEEDC at 4% interest for admission to self-financing medical, engineering, pharmacy, nursing, architecture and other technical courses in the college. For this, the annual income of the applicant’s family should not exceed Rs 3 lakh per annum and he should have secured at least 60% marks in class 11th and 12th.

Overseas Study Scheme (Loan up to Rs.15 lakh)

GUEEDC will also provide educational loans up to Rs 15 lakh at a 4% interest rate to candidates who want to pursue higher studies abroad. For this candidates must have secured at least 60% marks in class 12th and the annual family must be less than Rs 4.5 lakh per annum.

Tuition Assistance Scheme (Rs 15,000 per month)

All the meritorious students of class 10th who have secured more than 70% marks and studying in science stream in class 11th and 12th will get Rs 15,000 per month. This assistance will be given by the corporation in the form of tuition fee. It will also be known as Tuition Assistance Scheme.

Food Bill Scheme – Monthly assistance to private hostel students (Rs 1200 per month)

All unreserved category students who are staying in private hostels and whose family income is less than Rs 3 lakh per annum can get a monthly assistance of Rs 1,200 for 10 months in a year.

Coaching Assistance for Class 12 students (Rs.20,000 per annum)

All the students of class 12th Science stream can get coaching assistance up to Rs 20,000 per year. This assistance will be given to prepare for entrance exams like NEET and JEE.

Coaching Assistance for Undergraduate Students (Rs. 20,000 per annum)

General category students who have passed their graduation degree and want to appear in competitive examinations can take advantage of this scheme. For UPSC and other exams, the corporation will provide Rs 20,000 as coaching fee.

Loans for Doctors and Advocates (Rs 10 lakh per annum)

All doctors and advocates of a general category can also take loans up to Rs 10 lakh to start their own clinic and office.

Self Employment Loan Scheme (Rs 10 lakh per annum)

Under this scheme, the state government is focusing on the creation of self-employment opportunities. Anyone who wants to start their own business such as grocery business or transportation can get a loan of up to Rs 10 lakh at 5% interest rate. For women, the interest rate for the same amount is 4% per annum. These self-employment loan schemes include Vehicle Loan Sahay Yojana, Nana Vyapar Mate Loan Scheme, Transport / Logistics / Travel / Food Court Vyapar Sahay Yojana.
