Electric vehicle subsidy in odisha

The Odisha government has announced it would offer a 15% subsidy for purchasing electric cars. For two-wheelers, the subsidy is 15 percent of the price, in the range of 5 lakh rupees. The limit on 15 percent subsidy on 3-wheelers will be Rs10,000, and for four-wheelers, it’s Rs 50,000, it stated.

The decision was based on the recommendations from Niti Aayog and being under Odisha Electric Vehicle Policy 2021, and the notification released this morning from the Commerce and Transport Department said.

The scheme will go into effect from September 1st, 2021. The money will be transferred to the beneficiary’s accounts on the RTO in the country where the car was registered. The scheme will remain running until the end of December 2025.

In order to encourage faster adoption of E-vehicles in the State, the Commerce and Transport Dept, Govt of Odisha has exempted the registration fees and Motor Vehicle Taxes for all categories of electric vehicles. The subsidy is applicable wef: 1st Sept, 2021. @CTOdisha pic.twitter.com/aLMVO6rFRJ
