Buy FASTag for Vehicles Online

The Central Government has made it mandatory to buy FASTags for all vehicles, private or commercial, from 15 February 2021. In this post, people can know how to buy FASTag for vehicles online and recharge these toll tags. This electronic toll collection tag is currently issued by 22 certified banks. The complete bank issuing list of these FASTAGS along with these charges is now available.

All vehicles without FASTags will have to pay double the normal toll charges at highway toll plazas. People can get FASTag through various channels like Point-of-Sale (POS) at National Highway toll plazas and bank branches.

People can also buy/recharge their FASTag from Amazon, Paytm, PhonePe, MyAirtel and other e-commerce platforms. Activation of FASTag can be done on the My FASTag mobile app on the Google play store or by contacting banks.

Since the FASTag electronic toll collection method will be mandatory for all vehicles from February 15, it is important that people should purchase one. FASTag activation process

• FASTag Activation through Banks – At the time of FASTag activation, people need to submit KYC (Know Your Customer) documentation as per the KYC policy of the bank. Apart from the KYC documentation, people have to submit the Registration Certificate (RC) of the vehicle to the bank along with the application for FASTag.

FASTags are bank-neutral, which means that no bank is assigned a FASTag at the time when a purchase is made from a PAST terminal or online platform. Online FASTag is based on the concept of DIY (Do-It-Yourself), where you can self-activate it by entering vehicle details in the “My FASTag” mobile app.

Know about FASTags

FASTags are prepaid rechargeable tags for toll collection that allow automatic payment deduction from the FASTag. These electronic toll collection tags are usually affixed on the windscreen of the vehicles. After activating FASTag, you will not have to stop your vehicle at the toll plaza for toll payment. As soon as the vehicle crosses the toll plaza, the toll fee will be automatically linked to the bank account/prepaid wallet, which is linked to the FASTag.

An active FASTtag works on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. All active FASTags have no expiry date indicating that they can be used as long as they are readable at toll plazas and not tampered with.

Recharge FASTag on Google Pay / PhonePe App using BHIM UPI ID

National Payments Corporation of India enables people to do FASTag online recharge using BHIM UPI ID on Google Pay/ PhonePe app. FASTag has become mandatory for every vehicle plying on the road to pay toll tax at toll plazas. As per NPCI guidelines, all banks licensed to provide FASTag services should provide customers with the option to recharge FASTag through UPI. Google Pay and Phone Pe both are very popular mobile apps that can be downloaded from the google play store. Google Pay / Phone Pe can be used to recharge your FASTag from whichever bank your FASTag is issued.

UPI handle of your FASTag recharge [email protected] Is. For example, if your FASTag belongs to Equitas Bank and your vehicle number is KA 02 N 1234, then your UPI VPA (Viral Private Address) or UPI ID or UPI Handle [email protected] Will happen. • First of all, open the Phone Pe app which is installed on your Android smartphone. The homepage of the PhonePe app will appear where you have to open the page “To Contacts Click on the tag:-

• then in the headerBHIM UPI click on “Option”, then “Add Beneficiary BHIM UPI ID” to open the payment page.ConfirmClick on the button:-

• Enter the amount here and pay with the bank to complete the FASTag recharge. After successful payment from your respective banks, you will receive a payment confirmation and a FASTag recharge message on your mobile phone:-

Recharge FASTag on Google Pay App using BHIM UPI ID

Here is the complete procedure to recharge FASTag using BHIM UPI ID on Google Pay mobile app:-

• First of all, open the Google Pay app which is installed on your Android smartphone. Enter your Google PIN number to open the page:-

• On this page, click “NewClick on the button:-
• Click here to open the ‘Pay to’ pop up window.
  UPI ID or QRSelect “R” option. , Enter UPI IDSelect the ‘UPI ID’ tab to open the pop-up and enter the ID:-

• To open the bank payment page” VerifyClick on the button. Select the bank for payment and then make the payment using the “Pay” button. Bank send Rs 1 as a test case to confirm the correctness and make full payment after verification.

After successful payment from your respective banks, you will receive a payment confirmation and FASTag recharge messages on your mobile phone.
