Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is now accepting Baal Aadhaar Card as an online application form. People can now apply for Baal Aadhar Card online through Common Service Centers (CSCs) or Aadhar Seva Kendras. UIDAI will issue this blue coloured child Aadhar card to children below 5 years of age. These cards can also be made for new born babies which are valid for children up to the age of 5 years. Later, the blue coloured Aadhar card needs to be updated.

The concept of Bal Aadhar card is new. Aadhar card is basically the biometrics (fingerprints) and iris (retina scan) of an individual to provide a 12 digit unique identification number. But the fingerprints and pupils of newborns under 5 years of age are not fully developed. Hence, UIDAI has started this concept of providing child Aadhar cards to children.

If you want to apply online for Bal Aadhar card then you have to follow the steps given below :-

• First of all visit, the official website of UIDAI https://uidai.gov.in/ will go on.
• Then on the homepage, click on the link “Get Aadhaar”.

• Now in a new window in front of you, “Book An Appointment” Click the link.

• Here you can book an appointment by selecting your city/location. Apart from this, you can also make an appointment at the registrar operated Aadhaar Seva Kendra.
• Then to open Bal Aadhar Card Online Application Form for Booking Appointment “Proceed to book appointment” Click on the tab.

• Here you have to enter your mobile number and verify OTP.

• Fill in all the details to book an appointment for Aadhar Seva Kendra. Then take your child to the Aadhaar Seva Kendra in that particular time slot.

UIDAI has provided the facility to book appointments at one Aadhaar Seva Kendra for various Aadhaar services. These include fresh Aadhaar enrollment, updation of name, address, mobile number, e-mail ID, date of birth, gender and biometrics (photo + fingerprint + iris).

People can get their newborn children’s Aadhar cards made only with the help of discharge slips from hospitals. If the discharge slip is not present, apply for Child Aadhar Card through Birth Certificate in addition to the Aadhar Card of one of the parents. Apart from this, the school ID card can also be used for the child Aadhar card.

The Aadhaar of the children is generated with the help of their birth certificate (along with the parent’s aadhar) or the discharge slip received during discharge from the hospital.

When the child turns 5 years old, the blue coloured child Aadhaar card has to be updated. This card will be updated once again on attaining the age of 15 years.
