The Government of Rajasthan had announced Vidya Sambal Yojana in the state budget 2021-2022. The main objective of starting Vidya Sambal Yojana is to provide employment to guest teachers in schools, colleges, and government education institutions. The latest update is that the state government led by CM Ashok Gehlot has decided to implement this scheme and recruit guest teachers faster.

In the newly introduced Vidya Sambal Yojana, all the vacancies of guest teachers and faculty will be counted before the start of each academic year. On the basis of these vacancies, new guest faculty will be appointed. The basic objective is to reduce the number of vacant posts of teachers and teachers in schools, colleges and universities of Rajasthan causing loss to the students. With the recruitment of new guest teachers, the government wants to raise the level of education in the state.

Many posts of teachers are lying vacant in various government schools and colleges of Rajasthan. There are 40,000 vacancies for teachers in government schools, 20% of the total teacher posts are vacant. In addition, there are about 3,000 faculty positions vacant in the newly opened 80 colleges of the state. So Rajasthan Vidya Sambal Yojana (Vidya Sambal Yojana) is going to start to fill these posts by guest faculty recruitment.

Calculation of vacant seats of guest faculty before the start of the academic year

As we all know that in Vidya Sambal Yojana, vacancies of guest faculty in schools, colleges and government educational institutions will be filled. In schools, Grade A teacher will get a maximum honorarium of Rs 30,000, Grade C and equivalent teacher will get an honorarium of Rs 21000. Similarly, assistant lecturers in colleges will get Rs 45,000 while lecturers will get up to Rs 60,000.

Fear of unemployment among youth

Since the recruitment will be on a contract basis, there is a fear of unemployment among the youth. The unemployed youth of the state were waiting to fill the vacant teacher posts through competitive examinations. This is because the job opportunity will become permanent after clearing the exam.

But with the announcement of providing temporary jobs to unemployed youth, candidates are worried about their future prospects. Various student organizations as well as unemployment unions are opposing the move and want to discontinue the Vidya Sambal scheme.

Computer degree holders worried about contract employment

Computer degree holders are now troubled by unemployment since the announcement of Vidya Sambal Yojana. This scheme will ensure temporary employment to the candidates as guest faculty but not permanent. Moreover, their salary will be less than that of permanent faculty in schools or colleges or universities. There has not been single recruitment of computer teachers in the last 2 years.
The Rajasthan government had earlier announced to create a cadre in the budget 2019-20, which gave hope to the students to get a government job, but now with the Vidya Sambal Yojana, the state govt.
