Delhi Ladli Scheme 2022

Ladli Yojana is a flagship scheme of the Delhi Government to provide financial assistance to girls. Ladli Yojana Application Form PDF download facility is now available online for the girl candidates. The main objective of this scheme is to stop female feticide and to improve the sex ratio. Dilli Ladli Yojana’s application online process has been started and the state government is encouraging girls for educated through this initiative.
The WCD Department acknowledges the support of the Directorate of Education, MCD, and NDMC in the implementation of the Ladli Scheme.

State Bank Life Insurance Company Limited (SBIL) is the fund manager of this scheme. Under the scheme financial assistance is provided in the form of fixed deposit – Rs 11000/- and if taking birth in a hospital or Rs 10000/-. And if born at home at the time of registration and Rs 5000/- in each of the five milestones, then classes I, VI, IX, XI and XII.

What is Delhi Ladli Scheme

In order to end the discrimination of girls, on 1 January 2008, the Delhi Government launched the Ladli scheme for the protection of girls. Dilli Ladli Yojana emphasizes the protection of girls and promotes education by providing financial assistance. Apart from this, Dilli Ladli Yojana also emphasizes promoting awareness on the importance of girls in society.

The aim of the Delhi State Government is to empower girls socially and economically. On one hand, the Dilli Ladli scheme will encourage parents to register the births of girls and on the other hand, it will reduce the dropout rate of girls from schools. In addition, the Ladli scheme will encourage women to pursue higher education by providing them with financial security.

Eligibility Criteria for Delhi Ladli Yojana

To become eligible for Delhi Ladli Yojana, candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria:

• The girl child must be born in Delhi as shown by the Birth Certificate issued by Registrar (Birth & Death), MCD/NDMC.
• The applicant must be a resident of the National Capital Territory of Delhi who is at least three years of age prior to the date of birth of the girl child.
• The annual family income should not exceed Rs 1 lakh.
• If the girl is going to school, her school should be recognized by Delhi Government/MCD/NDMC.
• The benefit of the scheme is limited to two surviving girls per family.

Financial Assistance under Delhi Ladli Scheme

Under the scheme, financial assistance has been sanctioned in the name of eligible girls in the following phases:

The maturity amount at the end of the lock-in period will vary depending on the stage at which each girl child enters the scheme and registers under it.

Delhi Ladli Scheme Implementation

• Financial arrangement for the implementation of this scheme has been made with SBI Life Insurance Company Limited and State Bank of India.
• This amount is sanctioned in the name of the girl child and deposited with SBI Life Insurance Company Limited (SBIL), which manages the amount till the girl child attains the age of 18 years and has passed class X OR Takes admission in class XII after achieving the milestone girl child can claim maturity amount.
• The scheme envisages periodic payments by the government. In the name of the girl child, to be kept as a fixed deposit in her name and redeemed with accrued interest, when the child reaches the age of 18 years and has passed class X/XII as a regular student.

Maturity Claim Process for Dilli Ladli Scheme

• Girls registered under the scheme will file maturity claims after passing the 10th standard if they are of 18 years of age or have passed the 12th standard.
• Students are required to submit an application along with an acknowledgment letter received from SBIL; Home Address; 10th or 12th mark sheet (whichever is applicable); Copy of bank passbook showing account number; Mobile/Landline Number.
• The beneficiary girls are required to open a zero balance savings account with the State Bank of India by showing the acknowledgment letter received from the bank.
• Before this step, funds are transferred to the unique ID number of the beneficiary girl child allotted by the State Bank of India.
